OS X is a wonderful OS. Don’t get me wrong. But it has it’s faults, much like any other OS.
I have apps freeze, and crash quite a bit along the way, losing me many important hours of work/research for my articles here.

If you’ve ever encountered the Spinning Beach Ball of Death, you’ve had an app crash. If you don’t want to wait it out, here’s the method I use to force quit the apps on iMac.

forcequit

1. Press and Hold Command + Option + Esc
2. Choose the app in the Force Quick Application dialogue box.
3. Click Force Quit.

There’s a method to do this via Terminal, but it’s pretty convoluted and annoying, so I might include it in another How To later on this week.
