I just got the LG today and I want to report on the pros and cons that I have noticed so far.
Screen is very high-def and phablet like size. I like the fact that it is very wide. Fake Metallic back and overall feel of the phone is very premium and not plastic like. The new LG G3 flagship sports 5.5-inch, 1440 x 2560 (QHD) pixel resolution screen, and a whopping 538 pixels per inch. Battery life is great. I have been using hotspot for hours now and battery isn’t draining fast. First time charge I gave it a full charge 100% charge and from there on I will keep charge between 20% and 80% max which they say extends battery life. Battery is user replaceable. The HTC One and iPhone don’t have user replaceable batteries and when a person looks at the LG G3, it looks like it has a uni-body design with a battery that isn’t replaceable, but that is not the case.. The LG’s of the past were horrible but LG has really improved this time. The android interface on the LG G3 is faster than the Touchwhiz of Galaxy S4 and S5 in my opinion. It is lightweight, smooth and fast despite having bloat.
I dislike the fact that the volume and power buttons are on the back of the phone. LG phone designers thought that would be a convenient idea for those to be back there but the truth is that the phones huge size and wideness makes it uncomfortable to use those, and worst of all is the fact that I have a difficult time hitting the power button to try and turn on the screen. I keep accidentally hitting the volume buttons every time I try to hit the power button. What would of been a great idea is to put the power button on the right side and volume buttons on the left side like some traditional phones have. This allows for a person to operate volume and power buttons comfortably while looking at the screen and not blindly control them if they are on the back. When I am using the hotspot and screen is shut off the phone gets hot. My Galaxy S4 and S5 never got hot when I was using the hotspot. I am not doing anything data intensive so this phone should not be getting hot with light hotspot usage. Autocorrect spell check sucks for people who type in a different language. It autocorrected me way more often than the Samsung phones did. I wish they can fix autocorrect so it doesn’t autocorrect non-english languages. Despite all the cons though the LG G3 is still a great phone and has many more pros. I just got the phone so I will update this article as I see more Pros or Cons.
