Watch out Mountain View there’s a new Smartphone OS in town and Samsung is using it in place of Android.  Samsung has announced it’s first ever Tizen Smartphone, the Samsung Z.  The Korean giant has already moved it’s Galaxy Gear series smart watch to Tizen OS, and now the Samsung Z will be first smartphone to use the Tizen OS.  Samsung claims that Tizen OS comes with some advantages like faster boot up times, better multitasking, unparalleled HTML5 support and faster web browsing.

Tizen is the open-source operating system for all device areas.

Samsung Z Tizen powered The device is to be released in Russia initially, sometime between July and September, and will be showcased in the flesh at tomorrow’s (June 3) Tizen Developers Conference in San Francisco.

A 4.8-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display is present on the Samsung Z, supported by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and up to 16GB of internal storage space.

There’s also 4G (LTE) support, a 2,600mAh battery and two cameras – an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 2.1-megapixel snapper on the front. Samsung Z  Samsung Z
