If you notice that Pear OS 8 beta 3 RC is making your laptop desktop run hot, then you will need to update your graphics drivers. Something about the drivers that come with Pear OS or lack of drivers causes CPU to work harder which results in a hotter laptop. If you open up terminal you can copy paste the following commands.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install nvidia-current nvidia-settings
Be careful not to use the ‘dist-upgrade’ command. The PPA contains other packages and you will end up updating stuff that you didn’t want. After installing the driver, open Unity and search for a package called Software Source. In the second tab called ‘Other Software’ locate the PPA and delete it.
