**Update to the article below.  I have learned it’s the Java update for Windows 8 that installs McAfee.”  No wonder that annoying Java update was constantly jumping up at me with no way to completely stop it from asking me to update it.  It was desperate to install AV (because McAfee most likely paid Sun to install the crappy Anti-virus alongside the Java update).   Who even uses Java these days? Nearly everything is either Flash or HTML5.  I think I’m gonna uninstall it too, just because it force installed Mcafee Antivirus on my laptop. Last week, I was surprised to see that McAfee security scan plus installed itself.  I have never seen an app come out of nowhere (other than malware infections).  It just popped up on the 9th of July, I think McAfee is getting desperate here.  The tablet and phablet market is increasing while the PC market dwindles, and this is causing anti-virus software companies like McAfee to take drastic actions,  like force installing their apps on peoples PC’s without their knowledge. McAfee is well known for coming bundled with new PC’s through Manufacturer deals, and now McAfee’s antivirus is sneaking itself into our PC’s, through some unknown methods.  Perhaps they are paying Microsoft to sneak it into Windows 8 or 7. I rarely install any new apps, so I don’t think it came bundled with any apps.  I suspect that the culprit that allowed McAfee to install itself is Microsoft Windows 8 itself via one of windows automatic updates, but I cannot be 100% certain. I am uninstalling this now as I write this article, here is a screenshot.   Mcafee-security-scan-plus-installs-itself
